In the matter of John Eakins Will  )) July 8th 1856
The last will and testament of John Eakins late of
Adams County ??? deceased was this day produced in
the Probate Court of said county by Joseph Eakins the
Executor in the said will named and Samuel Lewis and
James Nixon the subscribing witnesses to said will ???
And in open court and on oath testified to the due execution
of said will which testimony was reduced to writing and
by them responding ??? and filed with said will
and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court by said
testimony that said will was duly attested and executed and
that the said testator at the time of executing the ???
was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not
under any ??? It is ordered by the court that ???
will be admitted to probate and recorded with ??? ???

In the name of the Benevolent Father of all
I John Eakins of Meigs Township Adams County Ohio
do make and ??? this my last will and testament.
First it is my will that my just debts and all ??? be
paid out of my estate.  Second I ??? and bequeath to my

Son Isaac Eakins and his heirs the sum of three hundred
dollars and to my son Joseph Eakins and his heirs the
sum of three hundred dollars and to my son James Eakins
and his heirs the sum of three hundred dollars and to my
Daughter Elizabeth Smolly and her heirs the sum of three
hundred dollars and to my daughter Polly Rogers and her
heirs the sum of three hundred dollars   I ??? and
bequeath to my daughter Priscilla Eakins the farm in
which I now reside in Meigs township Adams
County also and containing fifty acres also all my
house hold and kitchen furniture and farming utensils
It is my will that the land I bequeathed to my son
William Eakins go to his heirs and not be distributed
I give to my grandson ?Hammetton Eakins all moneys
he has now received from me for which there is no note
for I ??? and bequeath to my son Johnson Eakins
the sum of one dollars

I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Joseph
Eakins Executor of this my last will and testament
hereby ??? ??? and empowering him to adjust
and discharge in such moneys as he may ???

we Samuel Lewis and James Nixon being duly sworn
in open court this 8th day of July 1856 depose and say
that we were present at the execution of the last will and
testament of John Eakins late of Adams Co. Ohio.
?? hereunto. Amount and that we heard him publish and declare
the same to be his last will and testament and the
?? at the time of executing the same was of full
?? and of sound mind and memory and not in
any way  ??? and that we signed the same
as witnesses at his request and in his presence.
